Managing Partner of LESHCHENKO & PARTNERS, Oleksandr Leshchenko, has now obtained the official right to conduct lobbying activities in Ukraine. His details have been entered into the National Transparency Register of Lobbyists, administered by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP). The Register formalizes the status of professionals in the field, verifies their integrity, and ensures transparency of this newly regulated activity.
This step continues Oleksandr Leshchenko’s active involvement in the establishment of the profession. Earlier this autumn, he joined the board of the NGO National Association of Lobbyists of Ukraine — an organization created to act as a self-regulatory body, set unified standards and ethical rules, and develop clear and civilized mechanisms of interaction between business, society, and the state.
One of the key tasks in the near future, according to Oleksandr Leshchenko, is preparing amendments to the legislation. He notes that the current Law on Lobbying is largely framework-based and does not address all critical issues, including taxation procedures for lobbyists. For this reason, the National Association of Lobbyists of Ukraine plans to initiate legislative amendments to create an effective legal mechanism for regulating the profession.
The launch of the Transparency Register and the establishment of the National Association of Lobbyists are only the first steps toward building a modern and transparent lobbying institution in Ukraine. Oleksandr Leshchenko’s participation in these processes highlights his readiness to take responsibility for shaping the new profession and fostering an effective dialogue between business and the state.
