Tax authorities are hunting online sellers: ‘letters of happiness’ are received even for transfers of UAH 200
In the Media
Ukrainians who sell things through online platforms (OLX, Prom.ua) or send them by post have started receiving calls from the tax authorities. The reason was suspicion of conducting business without registration. In some cases, it is a matter of several small transfers of UAH 100-200.
If the tax authorities classify such transactions as systemic, a person may be charged with a violation – conducting business without state registration. Sanctions range from UAH 17,000 to UAH 34,000, and in case of repeated violations – up to UAH 85,000.
Where does the tax authorities get their information from?

These receipts are automatically registered with the State Tax Service, and thus the tax authority receives data on transfers.
Fiscal control over online sales will only increase. Lawyers advise acting in advance – if in doubt, get advice and analyse the risks.
